Research

My project aims to elucidate mechanisms that impair alveolar regeneration in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), focusing on the crosstalk between lung mesenchymal stromal cells (L-MSCs) and macrophages. We analyze COPD-specific alterations in epithelial regenerative ability under different L-MSC function and macrophage polarization status, using 3D alveolar organoid co-culture systems. Molecular profiling, including RNA-sequencing, ELISA, and surfactant staining, will identify the mechanisms underlying the epithelial proliferation and stromal-immune interactions, indicating potential therapeutic strategies for COPD alleviation.
