Research
My current research focuses on the role of DNA methylation in the (dys)regulation of epithelial barrier-related genes and airway epithelial barrier dysfunction in COPD. By integrating DNA methylation data with transcriptomic data from human cohorts, I investigate epigenetic mechanisms underlying COPD. Findings from genome-wide bioinformatic analyses are further validated through in vitro models to elucidate how environmental exposures and epigenetic mechanisms contribute to the pathogenesis of COPD, aiming to uncover novel preventive and therapeutic strategies.
